Chalet Roc Merlet was the last of our Cacholet chalets to be transformed - something we did during lockdown as we couldn't leave resort! We have totally refurbished and redesigned the beautiful lounge and dining area of Roc Merlet and it's probably the best of our Cacholet chalets now. The fabulous high ceilings here really add to the feeling of space in these very spacious lounge and dining areas. During summer 2023 we have stripped every square inch of external woodwork back to the original, much lighter colour and oiled it to protect from the sun and snow. We hope you enjoy our new "old" look...
It has a large yet cosy living area with beautiful beams in those high ceilings, traditional-style wooden and stone walls and large balcony windows letting in lots of natural light. This spacious living area feels wonderfully atmospheric with the log fire and is the perfect space for socialising.
Each of the bedrooms has a contemporary ensuite bathroom with bath, shower, wc and basin. Each room also has a balcony and plenty of storage.
Part of our group of ‘Cacholet’ chalets Roc Merlet overlooks the courtyard and our fabulous two shared outdoor hot tubs, in which guests can relax in style after a day on the hill.
Roc Merlet guests can use our comprehensive new shuttle service to and from the slopes in the morning and evening.
Alternatively the main village is a short journey on the shuttle from the nearby bus stop, or a nine minute walk.
Val d’Isère is a dramatic resort with an excellent lift system. There are easy links to Tignes which make it a huge skiing area, renowned for challenging skiing and vast off-piste areas.
This is not to say that novices are overlooked – they can warm up on the free ‘Village’ drag, then opt for the ‘Ski Tranquille’ area around Borsat.
More experienced skiers should try out ‘Criterium’ in La Daille, venturing to ‘Mattis’ in the trees during snowy weather.
A trip over to Tignes is simple and quick and opens up all manner of options for skiing and sampling the vin chaud! Advanced skiers will enjoy the challenge of speeding down La Face (the Olympic downhill in 1992) at the end of the day.
Those who have come to sample the famous powder have almost unlimited options - take a professional guide...
