The Le Ski Blog

'A group of 12 of us stayed in the La Saluire chalet this Jan 2022. We had the most fabulous week and were treated like complete royalty by our chalet hosts Emma, Holly and Rupert and cannot thank them enough for their amazing service.'

Snow Report 3rd January

03-Jan-2016

Val D'Isere

There has been sunny, blue skies for the majority of the week. The conditions have been very icy with lots of bare patches!

HOWEVER yesterday we had a big dump of snow!!  Approx 19cm which should hopefully give some great powder skiing going into the week. Average temperatures have been 4 degrees in the centre of town, 1 degree at 2700m and -1/-2 degrees at 3500m. We're forecast for a lot more snow during the week so be sure to check in with RSA Calum at the Gourmandine each morning for the best advice on where to ski each day.

Snow conditions: Icy below 2700m, packed powder above 2700m

Last snowfall: 19cm on 2nd January

33/42 lifts currently open
53/76 trails open

Courchevel/La Tania

The RSA team headed into the clouds to catch the New Year's fresh snow. Around 20cm had fallen by early evening yesterday and conditions are improving all over resort.

1850 remains the surest bet but once the piste bashers have been around all the pistes, you can be confident of good snow everywhere. The run into La Tania (Folyeres) has maintained good coverage and is a firm favourite with staff.

The snow is set to fall for the next few days so keep an eye on the weather and be sure to check in with RSA Dan in Courchevel and Liv in La Tania to get the best tips on where to ski. Finally although the mountains are now covered in snow, the off-piste is a no-go: it'll be a couple of weeks before the off-piste and back country is safe enough to ski.

Hope you all have a good week!
