Staff training completed!

15-Dec-2015

At the start of every season we put our lovely staff through an intensive 10 days of staff training, we started with Val D'Isere on the 26th November and then moved onto Courchevel & La Tania from the 3rd December.  We thought we'd give you a little glimpse into what we put them through...

Training starts with a demonstration meal so that all new chalet hosts get to experience the full Le Ski service, the following morning we hold a getting to know you session to help with team bonding!

Getting to know you!

The chalet staff then get stuck into lots of cookery sessions practising everything from special diets & canapes to cake icing & laying the table. Each new chalet host also has to cook both a practise breakfast and practise 3 course meal with canapes. During training almost 3000 canapes have been made, 100 cakes have been iced, 960 starters, mains and deserts have been prepared - no wonder we all put on a little weight over the course of a season!

Meanwhile the Resort & Ski Assistants (RSAs) get to practise their coach speeches, have a familiarisation trip to the airport, have cleaning and firelighting training but also get out on the mountain to get up to speed with the local area, look out for the valley rally in Courchevel & La Tania and mountain challenge in Val D'Isere on a Friday which they've updated for the new season.

To complement all the hard work we also have an avalanche safety talk for staff delivered by our firends at New Generation Ski School, an injury prevention talk and lots of fun games at the end of the day to bring everyone back together again.

Congratulations to all our staff for all their hard work through training, they are now looking after their first guests of the season and look forward to seeing you when you arrive on holiday!
