Fun and fireworks at half term

17-Feb-2014

Happy holidays!

Monday morning of half term, and the sun has risen to illuminate the stunning peaks covered in a thick blanket of fresh white snow. What a way to start the week…

Talking of illuminations, our resorts all put on special events during half term, with torchlit descents and firework displays lighting up the mountains once the sun has set. Enjoy from your chalet balcony, or head down to the piste front to enjoy with a free glass of vin chaud (and a bumboard for extra entertainment!)

Here are the schedules:

Val d’Isere: Tuesday - fireworks at 18.30. Click here for more info

La Tania: Wednesday – torchlit descent at 18.00. Click here for more info

Courchevel Moriond: Tuesday 18.00 torchlit descent & fireworks. Click here for more info

Courchevel Village/1550 (visible from most 1650/Moriond chalets!): Thursday kicks off the International Pyrotechnics Competition. Click here for more info

With this week being full of families, our fantastic Chalet Assistants Rebecca and Megan would like to share a favourite recipe which has gone down really well with our toddlers in La Tania this winter. It'll be served up in chalets Rabel and MarMau.

Tasty chicken snowballs

500g chicken (minced)

Zest of 1 lemon

50g parmesan cheese

1 carrot (grated)

1 egg (beated)

100g breadcrumbs

2 tbsp chopped parsley

---

Mix the chicken mince with all the other ingredients, add enough breadcrumbs to bring the mixture together.  Roll into 2cm balls.

Heat a heavy based frying pan over a medium heat add a splash of oil and cook the chicken balls until golden brown all over.

Transfer to the oven and bake until cooked through.

Don’t throw them! Serve them to hungry bumboarders, along with potato wedges and green beans. Yum!
