Option 1) New to powder skiing?
If you’d like to explore what lies beyond the piste markers, then book a week on our Beginner Course.
Arrival day: Avalanche talk with a New Generation instructor in chalet before Champagne, canapés and three course meal with unlimited wine.
Day 1 09:00 – 12.00
• Techniques for skiing different sorts of snow (normally near pistes to start)
• Reading the terrain and aspects to find the best snow
• Quick transceiver search
Day 2 09:00 – 12.00
• Itinerary run if possible
• Discussing avalanche awareness and snowpack while on the move
• Tips for longer off piste routes where terrain changes and skiing must be adapted
Day 3 09:00 – 12.00
• Itineraries, couloirs and steeper terrain (if possible)
• Tactics rather than technique, including line choice and off-piste mountain skills
Course includes: flight, transfer, chalet accommodation, lessons, avalanche pack and lift pass.
Course requirements: Minimum New Generation level 6: “I am an advanced parallel skier that can ski all reds, and blacks as well, providing they’re not too steep or bumpy.”

• Getting the feelings back, finding the good snow on comfortable terrain
• A short recap on transceiver use
• Coaching and feedback on individual performance (to be worked on during the day off on safe terrain)
Day 2 09:00 – 12.00
• Itineraries, couloirs and steeper terrain
• Tactics rather than technique, including line choice and off-piste mountain skills
• Video when conditions allow
• Snowpack, weather and avalanche awareness information
Day 3 09:00 – 12.00
• Option 1: Request day (if you enjoyed something you’ve done before, you can do something similar, like another itinerary, couloir or more steeps)
• Option 2: Introduction to Ski Touring (if the group all wants to try this and are happy to rent the specialist equipment)
• Option 3: A reverse Heli-Skiing trip from Lac du Chevril (each member of the group would have to pay an upgrade fee of €28 and this option is subject to weather and snow conditions)
Course includes: flight, transfer, chalet accommodation, lessons, avalanche pack and lift pass.
Course requirements: Minimum New Generation level 7: “I can ski most places. Black runs are no problem and I enjoy off-piste and itinerary runs.”
Bookable on an individual basis but minimum lesson size is 4.
